DESCRIPTION
Δ It is a colorless, transparent and viscous liquid at room temperature, with hygroscopicity and ammo-nia odor. Reacts violently with strong acids such as sulfuric acid, nitric-acid, and hydrochloric-acid.
APPLICATIONS
Δ Monoethanol-amine is an important corrosion inhibitor, which plays a role in the treatment of boiler water, coolant for automobile engines, drilling and cutting oils, and other types of lubricating oils. However, monoethanol-amine should not be used in combination with nitrite corrosion inhibitors to prevent the formation of nitrosamine carcinogens.
